(Read detail report).An early learning for school success program was recently completed Oct
2004-Feb 2010 period by Save the Children-USA fund. This program is to
bring innovation into the education system for all children, including
those disadvantaged by poverty, gender, ethnicity and disability. The
program prepares children for schools; in turn, schools prepare children.
Furthermore, the community is enabled to support the schools and to help
children become successful learners. The program is implemented both at
the community level and in the formal primary education institutions.
Over the years, in course of the implementation, a number of challenges
were encountered in terms of operations and management. At the same time,
there have been many successes. This article presents some of the successes
and lessons learnt while looking at the challenges and what sort of initiatives
were taken to overcome some of the challenges.
VERC is one of the SUCCEED implementer has been working for Dhaka region
Hubs at Savar, Tongi and Uttara. VERC started the project during January
2005 to February 2010. The main focus of VERC implementation process is
to concentrate on community participation for any developmental aspects.
As focus on early childhood development and early primary education arena
SUCCEED has proved that community involvement is not a hypothesis but
it is very important for all developmental activities.
In 2010, 362 preschools, 360 CACs (combined form of CtC and CLC), 42575
Children in RBM program which have been started and they are running with
their regular activities. In the period we focused on enrollment of children,
appointment of teachers and facilitators, ensure materials and routine
in the centers. We also focused on the active participation of community
people to run the preschools.

In May 2007 Professional Educators Development Initiative activity under EPE program started in our working areas. Sixty primary school teachers participated in those activities.
