1. Participatory Strategic Planning was taken place during 11-19 July 2005 in three unions of Sadar Upazila under Madaripur and one union of Sherpur Upazila under Bogra district.
August 2005
1. Participatory Strategic Planning was taken place under the SLG project during 01-09 August 2005 in three unions of Mirsharai Upazil of Chittagong district.
2. The representative from Uganda and SC USA visited Savar SUCCEED working area on 01 August 2005 and in the same day they also visited local toy market.
3. A team from ICDDRB visited VERC SUCCEED areas on 10 August 2005. During the visit, they also exchanged views with teachers and community peoples
September-2005
1. A team consisting of four members from CAMPE visited Savar Uttara and Tongi SUCCEED areas on 13 September 2005 for gaining the practical knowledge on SUCCEED project.
2. Mr. Mosleh Uddin Sadeque, Snitation Specialist of DPHE–DANIDA, Water Supply & Sanitation Components visited Banshbaria union of Sitakunda upazila, Chittagong from 28-30 September 2005, to make a study to identify the key factors for effective involvement of LGI in achieving 100% Sanitation.

3. Divisional Commissioner of Rajshahi division Mr.Md Mosleh Uddin and Deputy Commissioner of Chapai Nawabganj Mr. Md. Nurul Islam visited VERC Bholahat and Nachol area on 21 September 2005 to see the 100% Sanitation activities
4. Mr. L. K. Siddique, Member of Parliament of Sitakunda Constituency visited Muradpur union of Sitakunda Upazila, Chittagong on 16 September 2005. He visited some community activities (Rally, CTC, Community presentation, Latrine visit etc) and was impressed to see the Community involvement. Respective field officials were present during his visit.
5. Mr. Yakub Hossain, Deputy Executive Director, VERC and Mr. Aminul Islam attended the CCP meeting during 27-31 September 2005 at Cambodia organized by ARECOP-International.
October 2005

During the briefing session in the observance of the National Sanitation month October 2005 in Naogaon district, Chief Guest Deputy Commissioner Mr. Golam Mortoza suggested participants including the NGOs working in the area to follow VERC approach in implementing 100%Sanitation activities in all the upazilas of the district.

* Ms. Barbara Frost and Mr. Ravi Narayanan incoming and outgoing CEO respectively of WaterAid UK visited VERC Mohanpur area to see the ongoing community mobilization activities, water point installation and discussed with LGI (UP) representatives as a process of achieving CLTS during 3-5 October 2005.
November 2005
1. Upazila Committee of Bangladesh Union Parishad Federation (BUPF) formed during 26 December 2005 to 12 January 2006 with the Chairman and Member of 47 union parishads under the SLG project.

Decembre-2005
1. A Legal Aid Conference was held on 13 December 2005 organized at Zafar Imam Tennis Complex, Rajshahi jointly organized by VERC-FSVGD project, DWA Rajshahi and other CNGOs of Rajshahi district. The objectives of the conference:
• To raise awareness on opportunities with regards to legal aid support to VGD women in Bangladesh.
• Inform the community on the process of obtaining legal aid support from GO and NGO.
• Link up VGD women with the local Bar Association to get better legal aid service.
The Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Rajshahi district, four District Judges, Judge court of Rajshahi. Ms Catharina Van Heel, Managing Director of Fem Consult, Ms Herma Majoor, Chief Technical Advisor of FSVGD project, Government Officers of Rajshahi district, Advocates of Rajshahi Bar Association, VGD women, UP leaders, Journalists and NGO representatives including VERC official were present in the conference.

2. Marry Hobbs, team leader Education department from US AID and Edward Save the Children USA visited VERC SUCCEED pre-schools on 15 December 2006.
3. Mr. Manash Kumer Chakraborti (Social Welfare coordinator) visited the VERC Sonargoan Education project area during 16-17 November 2005. During the time he alsovisited Burumdi Early Childhood Development Center and examined the quality of education. He visited Satellite Clinic in Brammon Baogaon and checked various documents.
4. Mr. Aryanto Sudjarwo from ARECOP visited VERC ICS project during 15- 22 December 2005 and the purpose of their visit was to monitor the ICS network activities in different areas of Bangladesh.
5. Officer In charge (OC) of Sitakunda thana visited some communities & broke some open latrines deputing his forces. Union Parishad Members and Chairman ignited through Union level Workshop as extra force for 100% Sanitation. Some Union Parishad declared not to provide Govt. facilities to beneficiaries like Boyaska Bhatha, Bidhaba Bhatha, VGF card issuance of different certificates and rationing ficlity with non-use of hygienic latrine in December’05.

January 2006

1. Counselors from Upazila committee of Bangladesh Union Parishad Federation elected 21-member central committee of BUPF from 47 union parishads Chairmen and members on January 18 2006. Mr. Reaz Uddin Ahmed, Chairman, Bangra union parishad of Kalihati Upazila under Tangail District elected President, while Mr. BM Wahidizzaman Loni, Chairman, Chalishia UP of Abhayanagar Upazila under Jessore District elected Secretary.

February 2006
1. The Governor and high officials of Central Banks of SAARC Countries visited VERC IBIG beneficiaries on 16 February 2006 at Bangoan organized by PKSF and Bangladesh Bank.

2. On 21st February 2006 International Mother Language day was observed by some CtC group. Children of various CtC groups organized different cultural activities. Children were making Shahid Minar, they walked with bare footed and placed flowers at the Shahid Minar with great respect in memory of sacrificing the souls of that moment. They acted in drama, held rally, prepared poster with writings commemorating our sacrifice and contribution our heroic mysteries.
March 2006
1. Mr. Suman Basnet, Director, Winrock Nepal and Lutfiyah Ahmed from Winrock International visited VERC and Saidpur & Parbotipur IAP project area on 13 March 2006
2. International Women’s’ Day was organized by VERC-FSVGD project at Rajshahi. During the day a colour full rally were brought and Mizanur Rahman Minu, the Honorable Mayor of Rajshahi City Corporation, Ms. Firoza Akther Khanam, District Women’s Affairs Officer, Rajshahi and VERC staff were present there.
3. Twenty six March’ 06 our independent day was celebrated by SUCCEED Children at community level. CtC children of Savar area organized a drama on our liberation war. It was a very touchy drama. Children were acting in the drama from their own feelings of respect towards our National Heroes of our liberation period.

6. World Water Day 2006 was observed in 48 unions through a three daylong program from 20 - 22 March.
7. A Nine member Ethiopian team headed by WA-Ethiopia along with Unicef–Ethiopia, representative from Ministry of Health - Ethiopia and PO of WA-Ethiopia visited VERC northern regional office and VERC Manda area office to have overall orientation on CLTS and status of the field from 28-29 March 2006. They also discussed with the LGI representatives in Kushumba and Moinam to see that how the LGI, NGO and community work together to achieve total sanitation.
April 2006
1. A press conference was held at VIP lounge of National Press Club, Dhaka for introducing Coordinating Apex Body (CAB) on 16 April 2006 and the journalists, reporters and media personnel of national Dailies and electronic medias were present in the press conference.

May 2006
1. Tetulia union perished of Chirirbandar Upazila under Dinajpur District organized a dialogue session on May 30 2006 among local people and UP representatives for ensuring transparency and increasing accountability of UP Chairman and members. Executive Director of VERC was present there as the Chief Guest. Coordinator, Training and Communication Section of VERC and Chief Executive of LUKS, BOHUBRIHY, JSKS, SPP, CTW, UDDOG, SCDF were also attended the dialogue session.
2. Mr. Mahmudul Kabir, Country Director and Mr. Lei Brouns, Regional Director, Terre Des Homes, Netherlands, accompanied by Shaikh A. Halim the Executive Director, VERC and Mr. Mainul Islam the Project Coordinator of VERC were visited Nakatibhanga ELC and Damadorodi Continuing Education Centre, Sonargoan on 22 May 2006.
3. Mr.K. M. Minhatullah, M.Khaliquzzaman, Environmental Scientist (Consultant), Priti Kumar, Environmental Specialist and Kseniya lvovsky, Lead Environmental Economist from World Bank visited to MPA pilot project areas at Kamolapur, Savar on 16 May 2006. At the end of the visit, VERC also arranged a sharing meeting on ICS & IAP activities.

June 2006
1. Mr. Mearo Gibson, Mr. Richard and Mr. Mahmudul Kabir accompanied by Shaikh A. Halim the Executive Director, VERC and Mr. Mainul Islam, Project Coordinator of VERC visited theVERC Sonargoan project area on 01 June 206. During their visit they also organized a meeting with Ashariar Char Registered Primary School teachers and management committee.

2. 100 numbers of Imam from Imam Proshikkan Academy at Hazi Camp were visited on 18 June 2006 to SUCCEED project at Gazipur Area to see SUCCEED project model and process of its activities and this visit was organized by Asia Foundation with the help of VERC and Save the Children USA. Meloney Lindberg, Deputy Country Director, The Asia Foundation, representatives from SCU and VERC staff were present there.

3. A group of staffs (Nine in number) from AgaKhan Foundation, Pakistan made a visit to Dhamrai area on 27 June 2006 to see the preschool activities and SSB show. After the visit a presentation of VERC SUCCEED project was presented by Mr. Mainul Islam, PC, VERC.
