PROTEEVA
After phase-out of SUCCEED VERC implements a new project
called PROTEEVA. Duration of the project March ‘2010 to December 2014.
Program Approach (Read detail report).
The PROTEEVA model begins where SUCCEED leaves off: with the effective
pre-primary, parenting, and primary school activities, coupled with parent
education, advocacy and outreach. Yet PROTEEVA is not
simply a “SUCCEED II:” PROTEEVA’s scope and approach identify it as a
distinctive phase in an ambitious effort to bring quality early experiences
to all children.
Goal: to improve primary school enrollment, completion, and academic
performance for children in Bangladesh
Cross-Cutting Strategies That Contribute to and Sustain Results:
- Empowering existing community institutions,
- Taking PROTEEVA to scale through targeted outreach and partnership,
- Targeting capacity building, technical assistance, training and support and
- Prioritizing equitable Access and opportunity
Building on and deepening what began in SUCCEED, PROTEEVA’s approach integrates (1) quality pre-primary and early-primary services (in school, family, and community) for significantly at-risk children and families, with (2) ECD system-building and advocacy, and (3) an aggressive strategy to foster wide-scale adoption of PROTEEVA’s components.
