EDUCATION
VERC has been working in the education sector since 1978. VERC is the pioneer in formulating the non-formal literacy program in Bangladesh and was duly awarded by UNESCO for innovative contributions in the sector. The innovation and skills were shared with other NGOs, GoB agencies of the country in the eighties. VERC initiative and partnership has successfully contributed the education sector with diversity of skills and expertise. The strategic dimensions have been useful to specifically address the growing education needs of children and women in the country. VERC membership with networks growing at stages and in dimensions has been contributing to the national efforts in reducing the drop out rates in child population.
Focus of attention is making children and their parents interested in schools and education more interesting and enjoying. To retain the position in the sector, VERC implements education program in multiple innovative ways with support from dynamic and innovative donor agencies in the sector.
VERC also runs participatory groups for adults, adolescents and children in order to improve literacy and raise their awareness for capacity building and empowerment for sustainable development towards addressing its mission statement.

VERC own funded education program
VERC has its own funded education program under implementation in Savar area since 1979 to till now. Including 5 ECD (Early Childhood Development) centers there are nine schools running with 313 students. These children also participated in others extra curricular activities as well as observed different national and international days of significance and took part in various other competitions and have been awarded.
- Early Childhood Development center: 5 Centers are continuing with 162 students
- Class I: Four Centers are continuing with 122
- Class II: One Center is continuing with 29 students.
